In 2014, MBA’s committed people raised £3,400 for chosen charities

In 2014, our committed and charitable people raised just over £3,400 for 5 magnificent causes – the Sun-Shiners Group, Cancer Research UK, MacMillan Cancer Care, The Movember Foundation and a private case relating to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

We hope you will join in congratulating everybody that organised and took part in fundraising activities, as well as everyone who contributed by digging deep in their pockets.

Sun Shiners Group

The Sun Shiners Group is a new and local charity that provides a safe and supportive environment for children with autism and their families. The funds raised will help the charity to continue its great work and help them to grow and reach out to more families in need.

Cancer Research UK

Cancer affects 1 in 3 people in the UK and there are over 200 different types of cancer affecting people today. Research into each and every type of cancer is vital towards finding better treatments and potential cures for each and every single one. In 2014, our great people have continued to raise more money to support CRUK in its efforts to one day, cure cancer.

MacMillan Cancer Care

When you have cancer, you don’t just worry about what will happen to your body, you worry about what will happen to your life. Macmillan recognises that a cancer diagnosis can affect everything and they are there to support people through this tough time by helping to make the necessary choices to take back control.

The Movember Foundation

The Movember Foundation is the leading global organisation committed to changing the face of men’s health. It provides funding for research into testicular and prostate cancer and men’s mental health.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a recessive form of muscular dystrophy that affects around 1 in 3,600 males. The funds raised for our private cause will go towards a much needed stem cell procedure that is only available in Canada at this time.

MBA would like to continue the success of what has now become a tradition and something that each and everyone at MBA can be very proud of.

In 2015, our internal charity committee will be organising lots more fundraising events from dressing down on the odd weekday to dressing up in fancy dress and taking part in a range of sponsored fundraising events.

If you would like to help us in our efforts by joining us at a pub quiz or by simply donating to a great cause, please get in touch.
