May 2010 MBA wins ‘Best-of-the-Best’ International Print Award.

MBA Group has won a ‘Best-of-the-Best’ International Print Award. The award is for producing a fully digital publication using their Xerox 980 colour continuous laser press.

Graham Smith, Marketing Manager at MBA, is delighted with the award. "We wanted to use a vehicle that would demonstrate the benefits of variable content on large print runs, which is where our data team and the 980 really score".

MBA fought off stiff competition with an incredible number of entries from over 19 different countries. The award was presented in front of an international audience at the Premier Partnership Congress held in Manchester on 17 May 2010.

April 2010 MBA add to digital portfolio with iGen4 investment.
MBA Group, the North London based multi-channel communication company, has invested in an iGen4 to complement its two existing iGen3 presses and confirms the companies position as a leading digital print supplier.

The investment is combined with an upgrade on one of its Buhrs BB300 mailing machines and follows investment in MBA’s finishing line.

Graham Smith, Marketing Manager at MBA, says the investment is customer led. "A number of recent contract wins included elements of digital print, plus clients are making much better use of customer data and realising the full potential of digital print."

March 2010 MBA raise awareness on inkjet recycling.

MBA Group is concerned by the growth of high coverage inkjet printing and the problems it is causing in the paper recycling process. MBA is taking a lead on this important environmental issue.

Marina Yannakoudakis, MEP for London, recently visited MBA as part of a fact finding tour. Following her visit, she raised the issue in the European Parliament.

Speaking to the President of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, Mrs Yannakoudakis said, "We all know the importance of recycling and it’s a given fact that we would expect paper to be recycled once used. I recently visited a printing company, MBA, in my constituency of London, where I found out more about inkjet printing."

February 2010 MBA Group adds PEFC to its environmental accreditations.
MBA Group, the North London based multi-channel communication company, has added Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) to its list of environmental accreditations. It means the company can now supply the full range of papers from both PEFC and FSC sustainable forests.

MBA are one of the few mailing houses in the UK to have both sustainable forest certificates and complements their ISO14001 accreditation.

January 2010 MBA Group gets boost from EDF Energy.
MBA Group have successfully completed a vigorous supply chain process and been added to EDF Energy’s roster of print and direct mail suppliers. The win complements MBA’s growing list of utility companies including a recent contract with E.ON.

Kevin Stewart, Sales Director at MBA, is delighted to have been selected. "I believe that it was our experience in the digital and electronic media arenas that gave us the edge. It would sit well with EDF Energy’s realignment of their marketing strategy."

December 2009 MBA Group wins Home Learning College contract.
MBA Group, the North London based multi-channel communication company, have won the contract to print and mail courses for Home Leaning College (HLC).

HLC are the UK’s leading distance learning college and MBA mail up to 200 packs per day, which contain both course literature and software. The digitally printed literature is complemented by litho printed slip cases and all items are hand inserted into mailing packs.

Using MBA’s single source solution has helped HLC save up to 50% on the cost of production.

November 2009 MBA Group claims World’s First truly digital magazine.
MBA Group have claimed a world first in digital publishing, producing a variable content magazine with relevant editorial/advertising for every reader.

The October 2009 issue of Print Media Management was printed on their two Xerox 980 Colour Continuous Presses then finished on two Duplo 5000 Booklet Makers.

Three things make this publication different. First, it’s fully digital. Not a digital/litho combination. Second, it uses offline data - not data that has been built or amended via a web page. Finally, it has both variable editorial and advertising throughout the publication.

October 2009 MBA Group wins 3 year transactional print contract for E.ON.
MBA Group, the North London based multi-channel communications company, has won a 3 year transactional print contract with E.ON - one of the UK’s leading power and gas companies.

The contract covers the provision of Sales & Service Transactional Print and adds to existing transactional contracts handled by MBA. New contract will go live on 1 November 2009 and the annual value is estimated at between £1.1m - £1.4m p.a.

September 2009 MBA follows £5m digital print spend with finishing upgrade.
MBA Group Ltd, the North London based print and multi-channel communication firm, has followed up a £5m spend on its digital department with an upgrade across its range of finishing kit.

The new equipment includes a Prism 115 Guillotine from Consensus Guillotines, a DC615 cutter/creaser and two System 5000 Booklet Makers from Duplo, along with a PSS Paragon PS800 pressure sealing line.

The planned investment was to ensure MBA could cope with the volume of work now being generated on its Xerox 980 Colour Continuous laser press and a general increase in production.

July 2009 MBA Group wins 3 year contract for DVLA envelopes
MBA Group’s Envelope Division, based in Milton Keynes, has won the DVLA contract for the provision of standard and non-standard envelopes. The new framework contract went live in June 2009 and gives other government departments access to MBA’s envelope production via a framework contract.

The annual contract value is expected to be between £1.35 - £1.5m p.a. and Bachar Aintaoui, Managing Director, is delighted. He commented "We have worked with DVLA since 1999 and have built bespoke systems to manage their contract. The team at Milton Keynes have developed a great relationship with the client and we consider it a prestigious contract".

June 2009 Ursula Burns, Xerox President, applauds MBA’s print quality

MBA Group Ltd has been congratulated on the quality of reproduction achieved using their new Xerox 980 Colour Continuous Printing System.

Ursula Burns, President of Xerox Corporation, visited MBA Group see how the company had achieved such outstanding results in such a short space of time. Burns had heard MBA were achieving great colour reproduction and wanted to see it for herself.

Bachar Aintaoui is delighted that the efforts of his team have been recognised. ‘We are the first company in the UK to install a Xerox 980, and we finished the installation in record time due to the efforts of MBA staff and the Xerox engineers’.

March 2009 MBA wins London Underground Timetable print and distribution.
MBA Group has won the contract for the print and distribution of London Underground Limited (LUL) Timetables. The 2-year contract is worth an estimated £300,000 p.a. and is for all Timetables used by London Underground staff across their 11 lines.

The contract win comes after a competitive tender which MBA won because of their comprehensive production facility, environmental credentials and central location. Kevin Stewart, MBA Sales Director, is delighted to have won this piece of business, "The emphasis of this contract is on print. It demonstrates that while we are able to offer multi-channel and electronic solutions, we still have core printing skills."

February 2009 MBA invest over £5m in two Xerox 980 Colour Continuous presses.
MBA have invested over £5m in two Xerox 980 high-speed, 4 colour, digital continuous-feed lasers in response to market demands. As more and more companies realise the increased return on investment (ROI) that individualised mailings can achieve there has been greater demand to make precision, full colour ‘high-volume’ mailings a reality.

Bachar Aintaoui, Chairman of MBA explained, "Colour continuous-feed digital print is not new. What‘s new is the real desire of clients to use it. Their data is much better managed making data-driven mailings easier to implement, and they have seen the increased ROI that individualised colour print can bring."

The investment comes as MBA celebrate their 25th Anniversary and takes the company into a leading role within the colour digital marketplace.
